What sets your company apart?
As one of the only woman-owned, Certified Aging-in-Place (CAPS) builders, we have a unique perspective on how a home really can enhance a family’s day-to-day living. Whether a new build or renovation, we work with you to truly understand how you live and what you love before we start designing. We are not just doing things better, we are doing things differently by listening to all family members. Our team is constantly thinking of new ways to solve old problems so that you wake up every day loving your new home.
What inspires and influences your work?
Our clients are the main inspiration for our work. We consider many things when we start a new custom home and our clients’ wishes steer us along the way. From the exterior design that fits into a neighborhood to the personalized floor plans, all the way down to the detailed finishes, our design ideas are influenced by every member of their family.
What are the most important elements of a successful build team?
The entire build team must share similar values to deliver the same high-quality standard outcomes for clients. From the first conversation to the final steps of construction, landscaping, and warranty maintenance, a hands-on contractor being there every step of the way will greatly impact the final result. The team needs to consist of talented and experienced field managers that supervise the day-to-day details of the home site and make sure everything is running smoothly and efficiently.
What do you enjoy most about building custom homes?
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing clients benefit from our work, giving them what they want, and making them happy.
What changes do you see happening in the building process?
From millennials to middle-aged to aging in place, we are encouraging clients to spend the time to decide what spaces they need in their home—and only build those spaces. Go back to simplicity. The baby boomer generation is looking to single-level living with one or two owners’ suites on the main level, foregoing a second floor and finished basement, creating a “forever home.” Millennials want small and simple. Most will have one to two children, so they are not going to build the “typical” five-bedroom, five-bathroom home. City Homes is the expert in rightsizing. We want to build spaces that are right for each client. We have the design ideas to fit your lifestyle needs now and into the future.
City Homes, LLC is a Designated Green Path Builder in 2022.
