Style & Structure

Joe Braun & Danielle Yegge

What inspires and influences your work?

Our homeowners influence our work. We take the time to learn about what our homeowners like, how they live, and what their style is to design a home as unique as they are. Every project is personal to us, and we want the homeowner to be excited and have the space immediately feel like home.

What do you enjoy most about building custom homes?

Building custom homes is a passion for our team and we feel blessed we get to do what we love. Every day and every project is different which makes the job fun. On each home, we get to see our creativity, design innovation, and quality craftsmanship come to life. Every home presents unique challenges that allow our team to problem-solve and customize the home. It is very rewarding to work with our amazing homeowners as well as trade partners to build the personal connections that we have. We truly believe that this is one of the best industries to work in because we get to see dreams turn into reality.

How would you describe your team’s approach to a new project?

When it comes to building a new custom home, our team’s approach is centered around collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to turning your vision into reality. We understand that a home is more than just a structure; it’s a reflection of your unique lifestyle and personality. How we accomplish this is through a very organized and detailed process from our collaborative design process throughout the entire build. Staying organized with a high level of communication is important to ensuring a successful build.

What sets your company apart?

We love to design custom homes that don’t feel like any home you have ever been in. We can build/remodel to any style, and we have an amazing design team to help get you the look you have always dreamed of. At Style & Structure, we value attention to detail to ensure that your home has the highest standard of fit and finish.

How did you get started in the building industry?

Joe Braun has been building homes for clients for 39 years, and Danielle Yegge has been a new home and design specialist for 16 years. In 2017, they combined forces to start Style & Structure, a custom new home and remodeling building company located in Stillwater, MN. They have a passion for designing unique homes for each homeowner while bringing a high level of quality construction to each and every project.

How do you bring a client’s vision to life?

Bringing a client vision to life is a team effort. Our architectural drawings, our interior design features, and the overall budget are three important factors when creating a customer’s home. We need to make sure that each of these areas has equal value through each step of the process. With that in mind, we take the time to not only learn what the homeowner is looking for but also use our team expertise to come up with a design that our homeowners can be excited about.

What are the most important elements of a successful build team?

  • A high level of communication throughout the entire process with the internal team, homeowners, and trade partners.
  • Clearly defined and organized process to keep the process on track and reduce mistakes.
  • A team of experts who have experience and passion in the industry.
  • A good connection between homeowner and builder. You are entering into a long project together and want your experience to be enjoyable.
  • Trust. There are so many moving pieces to building a new home that you have to be able to trust in your team to get the job done.

What are some of your favorite trends and styles in new construction?

  • Although most people are designing open-concept floor plans we are seeing a lot more intimate spaces being added in the home.
  • Clients also want quality over quantity. We are designing smaller and more efficient floor plans so homeowners can focus on the high-end finishes they want in their homes.
  • Many homeowners enjoy having a butler pantry, a separate prep area out of view from the main kitchen space.
  • Adding raw materials to spaces and bringing the outdoors in. This textured, natural look can work with many different design styles.
  • We love adding unique and trendy ideas to small spaces such as powder bathrooms and laundry rooms.
