Quartersawn Remodeler

Jeff Nicholson

How did you get started in remodeling?

I have a passion for exceptional design and enjoy finding the perfect solutions to complex problems. Remodeling homes combines both of these passions.

What are the most important elements of a successful remodeling team?

Experience, creativity, and empathy are all very important. No two homes or homeowners are alike, but when your team has successfully crafted solutions for hundreds of homes previously, they know what to look for and what questions to ask. At Quartersawn we understand it takes a lot to put your visions, hopes, and dreams in the hands of another. We never take for granted the opportunity or responsibility that comes with that.

What inspires and influences your work?

The homeowners we work for inspire us. Each one of their stories is unique and the opportunities their project presents are theirs alone. We love getting to know them, their lifestyle, and their goals, and finding successful solutions to their needs. Great spaces change lives, and when you have the opportunity to work with so many of the same families and neighbors over so many years, hearing how the work we did improved their lives is very rewarding.

How would you describe your team’s approach to a new project?

We invest a lot of time and energy getting to know the existing home and learning our homeowner’s desires for their project. By taking a little more time upfront we feel we are able to craft better solutions that are very tailored to our homeowner’s desires and their home.

What sets your company apart?

We are passionate about great design. We have a licensed architect on staff leading our design team, I have a degree in architecture myself, as does our director of construction. We believe the creation of beautiful spaces should be a joyful experience.

How do you bring a client’s vision to life?

We begin by listening carefully. We then take the vision that is shared with us and transform it into models, renderings, and drawings that not only reflect the original vision, but enhance it.

What are some of your favorite trends and styles in remodeling?

We love how open folks are to customizing the look and feel of their homes to be a reflection of themselves. Year after year there seems to be less rigid rules for a particular style, but instead more fusion and interplay between different looks.

What makes you proud to be a remodeler?

The difference we make in people’s lives. It gives me a great sense of pride when a homeowner at the end of a project declares they never could have imagined living in such a wonderful home, they would have done it years earlier if they knew how easy it was.

How do you define an Artisan home?

Craftsmanship. From the first plans to the final details, all are executed with precision and care.
