How did you get started in remodeling?
More than 20 years ago, we practiced the precision and attention to detail that Highmark has been known for through a series of whole-home remodeling projects in South Minneapolis. What made these projects successful was our focus on integrating the history and charm of older neighborhoods with the beautiful craftsmanship of a newly designed home.
What inspires and influences your work?
For Highmark, the first spark of inspiration begins at the physical lot of the future home. We draw our creative vision from the natural surroundings as well as the aspirations of the homeowners themselves. Our designs are timeless and intentional—every finished product is hand-selected by the award-winning team at Ruby+Suede.
How would you describe your team’s approach to a new project?
Every new project begins with trust—Building Trust is more than our tagline, it’s our code of ethics. We devote ourselves to learning about every aspect of our client’s family, lifestyle, dreams, and desires. From that first meeting, we commit to a transparent process, taking the mystery out of homebuilding. Our whole team is engaged early in the process to ensure clear communication is established and a beautiful result is produced.
What are some of your favorite trends and styles in remodeling?
Today, we are spending more time than ever at our homes. While extravagant vacations might be on hold, you can still make memories together with your family in a lovely backyard oasis. Stunning outdoor kitchens, wood-burning fireplaces, and vaulted open-air entertainment spaces are a fabulous way to capture that resort-like feel right under your own roof.
What makes you most proud to be a remodeler?
Remodeling, in a way, is an opportunity to create magic. We have the opportunity to build a forever home for our clients so they can stay in the neighborhoods they know and love. Our goal is to amaze our clients with creative solutions and inspiring ways to imagine their spaces.
